AutoGP to introduce a new car in 2013

13th April 2012

With the championship already entering its third event, scheduled for the coming weekend on the Marrakech street track, for Auto GP it’s already time to start planning for 2013.

As the Series is going from strength to strength both in terms of awareness and grid quality, the Organizer is ready for a major step, as he’s going to introduce a new car for the coming season.

“We’re happy with the performance of our car – says Series boss Enzo Coloni - but at the same time we feel that after three seasons with the current design, something needs to be done in order to bring our championship even closer to the standards boasted by the top step of the motorsport ladder. In order to do that, you have to go for a major change, and that’ what we’ll do. It’s too early to go into the details, but you can expect an official announcement pretty soon”.

The new car won’t change the core features of the championship, based on high performances matched with affordable costs: “We don’t want the budgets to start rocketing, we have a strong identity as the only economically viable high-performance intercontinental championship, and we absolutely want to retain it”.
