.....and wraps up season with a win

Salvador Duran became the youngest Mexican driver to clinch an European Championship (at age 19), during the  British Formula 3 National Class round, wrapping up the campaign with a win at the 3.618-Km. circuit of Silverstone, in England.

In addition, Salvador is the first Mexican to win a title in Europe this year and he also set a new record in the National Class  totalling 300 points - breaking the previous record set by Adam Carroll (293 points). Duran was the driver with most wins in this season with nine, plus nine pole positions.

"In the first race, the goal was to secure the necessary points to capture the championship. The car was very good, it was very quick and I also set the fastest lap in the race," a delighted Telmex Racing driver said.

"In the second race, relaxed and with no pressure at all about championship, I obviously went out for the victory and I made an incredible pass on Ben Clucas, who acknowledged during the post-race press conference that this was a painful move to him, because not many dare to overtake him by the outside on a "U" turn, like I did it," said Salvador Duran, who is the second Mexican to grab a British F3 National Class title after 16 years when Fernando Plata achieved the feat.

"The team gave me a very good car, they gave me the best and in the second race the only thing I wanted, was to win, do my best and again I set fastest lap in my class. I added 32 points to the 268 I've already had. I've also received the Driver of the Meeting Award. Overall, I do feel delighted with all these achievements and I am very grateful to my family and friends for their support and especially to my sponsors Telmex, Corona, Sun, AMD, Ericsson, Inter Proteccion, SPEED, Pole Position and Prodigy Infinitum, because thanks to them, I was able to win the championship," he said.
