New Formula Renault 2.0 Testing

In order to help drivers get a flavour for the qualities of the New Formula Renault 2.0, Renault Sport Technologies is organizing three days of tests at Motorland Aragón (February 8-10).

 
New Formula Renault 2.0 is set to be the big new attraction of the season on the European circuits. Featuring higher performance levels, equipped with the very latest technical innovations, whilst offering 10% lower operating costs than its illustrious predecessor, New Formula Renault 2.0 is the ideal vehicle for training young drivers targeting Formula 1.

The order book is filling up, with the production of sixty vehicles currently planned, including around twenty for Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0.

To enable the drivers to get a feel for New Formula Renault 2.0, Renault Sport Technologies is inviting them to get behind the wheel of chassis number 1. Each driver invited – following a selection process carried out in concertation with the national championship promoters and the teams – will be able to drive 100 kilometres on the Motorland Aragón track. For the occasion, each driver will be given a set of new tires.

The teams who already have the New Formula Renault 2.0 are also invited to join the three-day session. They will benefit from the technical support implemented by Renault Sport Technologies during the season. To date, teams KTR, Koiranen Bros, and CRAM Compétition have already confirmed their attendance.

Moreover, the period of free practice granted to the teams is being extended to cover February 15 to 21. Beyond this date, the teams will meet up for Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 collective testing sessions, programmed at Valencia (February 22-23), Barcelona (March 9- 10), Magny-Cours (March 15-16) then Motorland Aragón (March 24-25). Teams are also entitled to take part in collective testing sessions for one Formula Renault 2.0 national championship.

The Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 season will kick off at the Motorland Aragón circuit (April 16-18) at the season’s first World Series by Renault meeting.
