Perez prevents Alvaro Parente from shining
28th February 2010
The second GP2 Asia race of the Bahrain round was very short for Alvaro Parente, as Sergio Perez sent him out in the first lap, when he was second.
The Portuguese driver started well from third and was able to attack the Mexican’s second place. However, in the straight after the first turns of the Sakhir circuit, Perez interlocked his right front wheel in the Portuguese’s left back wheel and the driver from Oporto had to retire, after a spin in the next turn motivated by a suspension failure.
Alvaro Parente was very displeased with this situation and he went to the Addax’s box to have a conversation with Sergio Perez about their accident. “It’s the second time that I’ve problems with him! At least, this time he admitted that he was to blame and apologized me, even if that doesn’t put me back in the race. I was in front of him and much faster than him. I don’t understand his behavior”, said the Portuguese driver.
“I think that I could be P1 in the chequered flag! I just had Adrian Zaugg in front of me and I was much faster than him. It’s disappointing to end a weekend in this way, as I’m certain that I could win”, concluded the driver supported by TMN, Stilo and Cision.
