 NEWPORT legend Frank Smart, one of the most popular riders ever to race for
 the club, will make an emotional return on Sunday.
 Smart will ride for a team of past Wasps against the 2010 team in their
 opening meeting of the season.
 Wasps co-promoter Nick Mallett said: "There has been so much interest in
 this fixture and many fans past and present can't wait to see Frank Smart
 and the 1999 boys on track and around the stadium.
 "We look forward to seeing many of our former supporters back on the
 terraces and in the grandstand on Sunday. It would be great to revive the
 level of support that those legends enjoyed in the previous decade."
 
 (SPEEDWAY 2)
 
 BERWICK co-boss John Anderson says his side are desperate to win back the
 Tyne-Tweed Trophy from Newcastle this weekend.
 The Diamonds have won it for the past two seasons and the sides meet again
 at Shielfield Park on Saturday with the return at Brough Park the following
 night.
 Said Anderson: "These nights are going to be nothing but very intense
 encounters - the supporters of both clubs expect, and deserve, nothing less.
 We are very determined against a powerful Newcastle side."

WINTER signing Peter Karlsson was Belle Vue's last-heat hero in their War of the Roses win at Premier League club Sheffield.
Karlsson shed a chain whilst leading his first ride but won his next four outings as the Aces came through 47-43 despite other assorted mechanical problems.
The home side could take plenty of positives from the event against higher-level opposition, with a big crowd packing into Owlerton to see the meeting of the old rivals.
Teenager Josh Auty was top man for the Tigers with 12 points including several spectacular passing moves.
Auty said: "I enjoyed it. We all did well and we can feel confident moving forward from this first meeting."

(SPEEDWAY 4)
 
SWINDON have re-scheduled the Bob Kilby Memorial for Sunday evening at 6pm after Thursday's planned staging was rained-off.
The Robins had attracted a World class field for the event, including several Grand Prix riders, but had to give in to late-afternoon rainfall.
Manager Ronnie Russell has confirmed the club will do their utmost to ensure as many of the original line-up as possible are present for the re-staging.
Russell said: "It's a tremendous disappointment with the amount of work and effort that's been put in to get this meeting together. Everyone was up for it and the track was superb.
"We got up in the morning and had a bit of sun, and we thought perhaps we were going to miss the rain."
