W and D Racing set to join SUPERSTARS with two BMW M3 racers and ITC Champ Paolo Meloni

The SUPERSTARS SERIES is proud to announce a new arrival, as W&D Racing Team, an iconic name coming from the Republic of San Marino and a renowned squad in Italian touring car competition. The team, founded by the experienced Walter Meloni, will be at its first run in the series as they will field two BMW M3 racecars in the upcoming 2012 season.

By continuing in the successful path started with the Bavarian automaker, W&D Racing, founded in 1987, will also celebrate their first 25 years. In the time spent on-track so far, many wins and titles has come since the days of CIVT and now it's time to step up to the SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES, the leading championship in the touring car arena.

The first confirmed driver is Paolo Meloni, the son of Walter. After spending the first part of his career in open-wheel racing, Paolo enjoyed a positive run in touring cars capped with the  2010 Italian Endurance Touring Car Championship title. While waiting to know the name of his team-mate, Meloni Jr definitely represents a valuable addition.
