Silverstone serving up double treat over August Bank Holiday - 29-30 August
As one of the most competitive domestic racing series, the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship is always a highlight of Silverstone’s calendar, with the eighth round of the BTCC taking place at the Home of British Motor Racing on 29-30 August.
A host of drivers will be battling it out at Silverstone, including the 2007 and 2008 BTCC champion Fabrizio Giovanardi who will be fighting to defend his crown and claim a hat-trick of championship titles this season. His main rival on the National Circuit at Silverstone will be the current championship leader, Team RAC driver Colin Turkington.
Former BTCC Champions Jason Plato and Matt Neal have also got their eyes on the 2009 Trophy and will be going all out to claim maximum points at the famous Northamptonshire circuit. In addition to all the on-track BTCC action, Silverstone will be hosting the 2009 World Aerobatic Championships on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August.

The best and most talented ‘Unlimited’ pilots in the world will go head-to-head over Silverstone’s Southern Circuit, performing spectacular tricks and routines in the most physical and mentally demanding competition in the world of Aerobatics.
