Tests in Estoril and Monza for the Auto GP teams

With the start of the Championship getting closer and closer the teams keep working hard to get ready for the 2012 Auto GP World Series. While waiting for the first day of collective testing, scheduled for 2 March in Monza, some teams have decided to organize their own private sessions, a valuable help to arrive at the season opener in the best possible shape.

So Campos Racing, Euronova, Ombra Racing and MLR71 went on track, choosing Estoril and Monza as their proving grounds. The team owned and managed by Adrian Campos opted for the Portuguese track, lining-up three cars on February 19. Facundo Regalia and Giuseppe Cipriani were joined for the first time by Max Snegirev: the Russian, coming from a season in Formula Two, was at his first outing on the Zytek-powered Lola, and his laptimes were immediately interesting.

Meanwhile, three other teams choosed Monza for a single day of testing that will take place tomorrow: Ombra Racing will again field Giancarlo Serenelli and Vittorio Ghirelli, while MLR71 will also boast their standard line-up, with Sergio Campana alongside team owner Michele La Rosa. They will be joined by Euronova, at their first Auto GP outing in 2012 with Sergey Sirotkin at the wheel. The young Russian will be at his second experience on the car, and will work hard to make the most of the test, trying to find the right feeling with the car.
