Isaac Tutumlu makes his debut with Proteam Racing

First test day for Tutumlu at the wheel of Proteam Racing´s BMW 320 TC.

Tutumlu improved his lap times over the course of the day and hopes to achieve a good result in qualifying on Saturday.

The young Spanish driver of Kurdish origins did not test this car until now,  and  ran two of four free practice sessions and set a best time of 2:04.432, with room to improve.

“Today was a successful day, because it was mandatory to learn how my new car works, because the BMW is very different from last year´s Porsche. Lap after lap, I have closed the gap with the fastest drivers racing in the Independents´ Trophy, all of them more experienced with this kind of cars than me. Likewise my engine was the same used in 2011 and my top speed was poor in comparison to others”, Tutumlu explained.

He also added “we will be using our new engine on Saturday. I think I have a good race pace because, despite my problems with top speed on straights, I was as quick as my teammate Mehdi Bennani in the slowest sectors. And Bennani was always a front-runner in the Independents´ Trophy”.
