Isaac Tutumlu all set for AutoGP in Morocco

Proteam Racing´s driver, after a great performance in Valencia where he scored first points and was 11th overall, will try his best once again at Moroccan Moulay El Hassan circuit.

Isaac Tutumlu, a Spanish driver with Kurdish background, is ready to approach next weekend his third meeting ever in the World Touring Car Championship, which is held in Africa. Morocco, which previously hosted WTCC events in 2009 and 2010, is another chance for Proteam Racing´s driver to improve his results and show his speed at the wheel of BMW 320 TC. Tutumlu, after a 6th and 9th places in the Independents´ Trophy two weeks ago, aims for better this weekend in this difficult championship.

In the same way as Monza and then Cheste, his car is going to have an engine with a lack of top speed in relation to rivals. Tutumlu explains that “BMW is focusing on DTM, because it is an important program for them and it is the reason because we will use again the old engine. The broke down one at Monza wasn´t ready for this weekend. This meeting is going to be harder than Valencia, because Moulay El Hassan is a fast venue and, for sure, a higher top speed is demanded. Anyway I will try my best and drive at 120% as always”.

In addition, there are another key factors such as “hot weather, and without any kind of doubts it will a challenge for both car and driver. And being an urban circuit any kind of mistake isn´t an option. Fortunately my team mate at Proteam Racing, Mehdi Bennani, knows this circuit and is going to be a helping hand”. Finally, Tutumlu added “a good qualifying session is almost mandatory, because it´s an urban circuit and overtaking isn´t easy. Then, in race, we know our race pace is good enough to be competitive”.

For this meeting, there is a test session scheduled on Friday, while both free practice sessions and qualifying will be on Saturday. The races, both 11 laps long, starts on Sunday.
