Beitske Visser WSK Euro Series, Sarno Review

Since making her debut in international karting, Beitske Visser had never faced such heavy rain conditions. During the three racing days the circuit of Sarno, which hosted the opening of the WSK Euro Series, was flooded by downpours that made driving very difficult. But in Italy, this talented female driver was able to hold her course and raise the Dutch flag in the group of the best KZ1drivers.

In addition to making a very promising debut in car racing, Beitske Visser is also pursuing, in parallel, her karting career during this 2012 season. But the Dutch driver knows how to make well-considered decisions and, most of all, how to be fast behind a wheel, regardless of the discipline. When she arrived in the Naples region, Beitske had no difficulty in bringing out her ability in karting again. A week earlier, she had raced in the first round of the "BNL Karting Series" Championship at Genk, in Belgium, which she concluded with a superb second place.

At Sarno, she raced again in the WSK Euro Series and in her class, KZ1, which gathers all the most experienced and talented drivers in Europe. "Owing to poor weather conditions, it was a very difficult race both from a mental and a physical point of view. In the rain I never relaxed, because I wanted to remain focused and avoid mistakes that are normally fatal on such a slippery track", Beitske commented.

After her 10th place in the timed session, behind the wheel of her Intrepid chassis powered with a TM-Tecsav engine, it did not take her long to reach the group of the fastest in the two heats. At the end of the heats, she rocketed up six places and kept her momentum going in Final 1, held on Saturday. She had a good pace going throughout the race and had the satisfaction of crossing the finish line in 5th place: an excellent result, considering the high competition level and difficult driving conditions. On Sunday, the weather was just as terrible. "The track was so slippery that the team and I did not opt for the best possible adjustments in one of the heats and I slid down the standings. But we responded well in Final 2 and my performances improved. I took an excellent start from a distant 21st place and managed to climb up to 9th. All things considered, it was a positive weekend that taught me a lot about driving in the rain".

 Meeting at Zandvoort

Thanks to her two perfectly mastered finals in the lead pack, Beitske Visser is now 6th in the provisional standings of the WSK Euro Series. However, she will be unable to participate in the whole series, since the Dutch driver will be on her single-seater in the ADAC Formel Masters Championship again on 4, 5, and 6 May 2012, on the circuit of Zandvoort, a race where she is determined to show some brilliant performances...
