BMW 3.0 CSL Group 2 racecar short video

(Ok - it's very short - but doubt you have seen too many CSL Group 2 racecars in London on the road anyway)

Basically the car needed moving from one mews garage to another for some photography - a distance of about 1 mile - and as we were helping out the customer and had some camera equipment handy - we set off down the road - and just got a couple of minutes footage.

what impressions did i get of this car after one of the briefest drives?

1 - Engine is pretty tractable for what is a race prepared 350 BHP n/a 3.5 litre six and would doubtless have sounded fantastic and felt as if it had some respectable stomp if I had been on private roads and found an opportunity to get it to clear it's throat properly - bear in mind it only weighs just over a ton2 - Clutch was light and progressive (not the sharp heavy monster i was expecting) and the getrag box was very positive3 - Steering was heavy at low speeds which for a racecar is pretty irrelevant - and probably the perfect weighting at 3 figures on track4 - Predictably it is not exactly low profile in a london street environment....5 - Must be a very competitive proposition in something like the Group 2 Masters series and with it's 40 year race history likely to get invites to classic Le Mans etc

The new owner will get to drive something very special which will be eligible for lots of events - I am rather envious! Must work harder etc!
