MSA British Sporting Trials Championship

Round 8: Jacobean, 28 April

Roland Uglow won what could be the last ever Jacobean Sporting trial, which dates back to 1946 when Uglows distant cousin became the first winner.

Uglow made few mistakes all day, despite the extremely slippery conditions proving to be very challenging. Ian Wright took an early lead but failed the middle climb on his penultimate section and lost the trial on a tie-break.

Ian Bell was second at the lunch break but stalled on his last hill and dropped back to fourth overall behind British championship challenger Tom Bricknell, who completed the podium.
