Ibiza Racing confirms Cipriani and Campana for Budapest AutoGP

Giuseppe Cipriani and Sergio Campana will again be racing under Ibiza Racing's banner in the third round of the 2013 Auto GP Championship. In Budapest the spanish outfit will seek to confirm the astounding pace shown in the first two outings of the season, a competitiveness that already brought the team an amazing tally of two wins in four races.

Despite the pressure of being on a race by race deal, as the economical crysis is hitting hard on Italian sponsors, Campana has been the most impressive driver in the field and lies now second in the drivers standings, just six points adrift of "sub judice" series leader Sato.

"Remaining focused when you know that you could lose your seat from one day to another isn't easy, but so far I managed to do that. My sponsors are doing their best to support me and sure starting the season with two wins brought them some enthusiasm, but still going on will be tough. Anyway, I really have to say a big thank you to the Ibiza guys who are providing me a top-notch car, we have what it takes to be the ones to beat throughout the whole season. I'm confident for Budapest, but I think that Karthikeyan will have the best shot there, he has plenty of F1 experience on that track".

Giuseppe Cipriani is also looking forward to the hungarian weekend, as it will be a chance to forget the first two rounds of the Series where bad luck struck on him. In 2012 in Hungaroring Cipriani drove his best Auto GP race so far, leading the field for many laps just to see his advantage erased by the Safety-Car hence being passed by some fellow competitors at the restart.

Modesto Benegiamo, Ibiza Racing's Team Manager, looks at the weekend with confidence: "The first two rounds showed that despite being newcomers in the Series we are a competitive outfit already. We are really happy of what we achieved so early in the season and now we aim to confirm those results in Hungary. I'm also delighted that Campana managed to extend our agreement for this race, I really hope he will manage to secure the budget for the whole season because he deserves it, he's fighting for the title! Concerning Cipriani, I really hope that Hungaroring will be start of a positive trend for him: he's always been quick here, so I hope he will get a shot at a podium finish".
