Nick Percat scores another Winton Porsche Carrera Cup win

Coates Hire Racing's Nick Percat bounced back after a difficult day yesterday, to claim another victory in the Porsche Carrera Cup at Winton Raceway today.

In a repaired car, after being punted off the track yesterday, Percat finished a solid third in the first of two 11-lap races behind Shae Davies and Michael Patrizi.

Of the other title contenders, Steven Richards finished fourth and Warren Luff 10th, with reigning champion and current points leader Craig Baird sixth.

In the second encounter, Percat and Craig Baird cleared away from the field to stage their own race long battle. Along the way, Percat set the fastest lap of the race.

By the chequered flag Percat crossed the line one second in front of Baird, with third place Michael Patrizi a further 10 seconds adrift.

Rounding out the top five were Shae Davies and Warren Luff.

Percats strong performance saw him finish second in the professional class for the weekend behind Michael Patrizi.

Stepping from the Coates Hire Racing Porsche, a delighted Percat said: "That was awesome, we've had enough of our share of bad luck in a few races this year. We've had the fastest car here all weekend and to get the win is awesome.

"I'd like to thank Team BRM who worked so hard all weekend and in fact changed a gearbox between races two and three.

"The win shows the real pace of the Coates Hire Porsche and I can't wait to give it a run around Bathurst at the next round".
