Ibiza Racing Team aims for top 5 in Budapest AutoGP

In one of the most hectic season starts ever, Ibiza Racing Team are ready to tackle the third Auto GP round in just four weeks. After two back-to-back rounds in Marrakech and Le Castellet, the Spanish team had just a few days to travel back to the factory and complete a thorough check and rebuild of both their cars before getting on the road again, this time heading for Budapest.

A traditional feature on the Auto GP calendar, the Hungarian round is among the most awaited by drivers and teams and not just because the Hungaroring is part of the F1 calendar: the track's technical layout presents hard challenges for both drivers and engineers, meaning that only a top-notch job in each and every area can guarantee success.

Ibiza Racing Team arrives in Hungary on a high, after enjoying a stunning Auto GP opening stint: in Marrakech, on the daunting Moulay El Hassan street circuit, Giuseppe Cipriani clinched the first podium finish in his Auto GP career, and in Paul Ricard confirmed his amazing form finishing twice in the top ten.

In Budapest, an event that in the last couple of years gathered crowds in excess of the 30.000 mark, Giuseppe and the team aim to keep momentum once more, focusing on bagging precious championship points and making the most of any podium chance the races could bring.

Modesto Benegiamo (Team Manager): "With three rounds in just four weeks this is possibly the most busy season start I've ever experienced in the business, but I couldn't be happier about how the team is coping with that. Despite the tight schedule the technical staff has done an amazing job so far, providing Giuseppe a reliable car that allows him to improve his confidence lap after lap. The results we achieved in the first two rounds of the championship are there to prove that, and we hope that Round 3 won't be different. We have all it's needed to be steadily in the top 5, and from there a podium result would be well in our reach. We know that we will have some serious competition out there, but we are ready to do our best. Qualifying will be key, on a circuit that doesn't give many overtaking chances the starting position will be paramount.
