Heavyweights at Lausitzring

Swapping Lausitzring for boxing ring: The motor racing stars will have some extremely powerful back-up, as ex-Formula 1 world championship runner-up Heinz-Harald Frentzen (47, D / HTP Motorsport) and World Rally Champion Sébastien Ogier (30, F / Prosperia C Abt Racing) compete during the third ADAC GT Masters race weekend at the Lausitzring (May 23rd to 25th). Heavyweight boxers Francesco Pianeta, Steffen Kretschmann and Tom Schwarz, who will appear on May 30th at the 'ran+ Night of the Heavyweights in Dresden's EnergieVerbund Arena (live on Maxdome), will pay a visit to the Super Sports Car League on Sunday. Francesco Pianeta is intent on lifting the WBO European Championship title in the contest with Frenchman Mickael Vieira at the Night of the Heavyweights in Dresden. Pianeta had to admit defeat a year ago in Mannheim after going up against triple-crowned heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in a courageous and committed bid to win through. In December, Pianeta secured the title of International German Champion after his remarkable performance and subsequent victory in Frankfurt/Oder. In the fight against Vieira, Pianeta is hoping to take the WBO European crown in order to continue his progress up through the rankings and thus be in a position to have another crack at the world title. Steffen Kretschmann from Halle/Saale is likewise now in the running to secure the International German Championship title in the fight against Dresden-based Turkish boxer, Özcan Cetinkaya. The three 'big guys' from SES Boxing will go directly from the pit lane to the boxing ring after Sunday's ADAC GT Masters race. Starting at 2:00 pm, the three heavyweights will put on a show training session in the paddock where tickets for 'ran+ Night of the Heavyweights in Dresden will also be raffled.
