Ogier, Frentzen, Alguersuari and Winkelhock at warm-up for ADAC GT Masters in Dresden Motor racing stars prepare for the ADAC GT Masters at the LausitzringPress conference in awe-inspiring Dresden settingWorld rally champion Ogier and ex-F1 driver Alguersuari about to make their ADAC GT Masters debutOne world rally championship title, 19 world rally championship race wins, a total of 204 Formula 1 starts and three grand prix victories between them - a very special meeting took place on Thursday night in Dresden ahead of the ADAC GT Masters race weekend at the Lausitzring (May 23rd-25th) involving world rally champion Sébastien Ogier (30, F / Prosperia C Abt Racing), ex-Formula 1 world championship runner-up Heinz-Harald Frentzen (47, D / HTP Motorsport) and the two ex-Formula 1 drivers, Jaime Alguersuari (24, E / ROWE RACING) and Markus Winkelhock (33, D / Prosperia C Abt Racing). The four motor racing stars will line up at the weekend in the Super Sports Car League and had agreed to take part in a 'media warm-up' for the race weekend. This will be Ogier's and Alguersuari's first time on the Lausitzring grid in the ADAC GT Masters (Saturday and Sunday live on kabel eins, commencing at 11:45 am). The motor racing stars had their first session together away from the track at the Neumarkt in Dresden against the awe-inspiring backdrop of the Frauenkirche. Taking questions from the press, Ogier, who will line up in an Audi R8 with Markus Winkelhock, and Alguersuari, sharing a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with Nico Bastian (24, D) spoke to the many media representatives present about their ADAC GT Masters debut. This constitutes a guest appearance at the Lausitzring for Volkswagen works driver Ogier, and he will be back contesting another world rally championship round in Italy at the wheel of his Volkswagen Polo R WRC in just ten days' time, battling hard to secure world championship points, but Alguersuari will return to compete in all twelve remaining ADAC GT Masters races in the 550bhp Mercedes gullwing. Alguersuari: "I'm very excited about the weekend because this will be not just my first race in the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring, it's also my first time ever in a GT race car. I've definitely got a great deal to learn this weekend." Frentzen is hoping for a good result at the Lausitzring: "My team mate Luca Stolz and I have made excellent progress in our Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG recently, and I hope that we can convert those advances into a good result at the Lausitzring." After this relaxed warm-up gathering ahead of the two races, things will get serious for Ogier, Frentzen, Alguersuari and the nearly 50 other ADAC GT Masters super sports car drivers on Friday morning at 8 am when practice gets under way at the Lausitzring. Grid positions for the two races on Saturday and Sunday will be decided in qualifying, commencing at 4 pm.
