Jordan to race AC Cobra at Goodwood‏

Andrew Jordan will make his debut in the RAC TT Celebration race at this year’s Goodwood Revival (12-14 September) in a stunning AC Cobra from DK Engineering. The reigning BTCC champion is already confirmed to share his father Mike’s Austin A40 during the Revival weekend and jumped at the chance to race the mighty sports car in the hour-long TT Celebration race. He will partner James Cottingham to make a very strong driver pairing.Jordan hopes that the race in the Cobra will lead to more opportunities to race historic cars when dates fit in with his BTCC commitments. He says that the nature of the 4.7-litre Cobra should suit his driving style.“It’s got lots of horsepower and limited grip, so it will be moving around a lot. That’s how I love driving cars and it’s what I’m used to from my time in rallycross,” said Jordan. His car control, particularly in slippery conditions, is highly regarded by fellow BTCC racers.“It’s going to be an incredible event and racing the A40 and the Cobra on the same weekend will be amazing. I’d like to thank James and everyone at DK Engineering for this opportunity. They have a very good reputation in historic racing, so I know the Cobra will be spot on.”The 1964 Cobra was shipped to the US when new and was raced extensively in the 1960s before going into a private collection. Then, in 2011, Bruce Canepa took the left-hand drive car back to racing.
