Blimey - talk about 2.7 RS halo effect - since when was a 911 targa - albeit a 1974 2.7 model worth £180k? Similar underpinnings a 73 2.7 RS - which lets face it is THE star performer of the classic world seems to guarantee todays desirability. May another way of looking at it is that it is only a 1/3rd of the price of an RS Touring - which is more common in any case....a Porsche 911 2.4 L S Targa also reached £166k - some way above estimate.

Glass fibre 308 was clearly an unrealistically low estimate - as was the Testarossa - based on recent UK prices - certainly a sign that the of quoted late 70's + 80's poster cars are now appealing to the 30 to 40 somethings who want an old classic - who are beginning to realise if they are not already running a hedge fund - they have no chance of owning a decent V12 Enzo era Ferrari.

Thought the Mini "Woody" was a good result for the owner - and even if the Wood & Picket Mini Saloon needed work - it's an effortlessly cool run around.

Jag XJ220 - as per recent results elsewhere now seems to be getting a bit more love - and the 964 RS at more or less £200k for a purportedly mint example in today's aircooled frenzy reality was probably not a bad deal
