This Weekend at the Sebring HistoricsFull-Weekend Finale Follows Recent Announcement of 2015 Stuttgart Cup/GT3 Cup Racing Schedule The Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA by Car Amigo will close out its 2014 championships this weekend at Sebring International Raceway fast on the heels of the recent announcement of the 2015 racing schedule for the Porsche Cayman, Boxster and GT3 Cup racing series.A competitive entry of Stuttgart Cup Porsche Caymans and Boxsters will join what may end up being the largest Mission Foods GT3 entry of the season at the HSR Sebring Historics, December 4 – 7.The weekend’s Stuttgart Cup/Mission Foods GT3 schedule includes two sprint and two enduro points races - including the featured Four Hours of Sebring Sunday afternoon - as well as a 45-minute non-points race Friday night. Champions in all divisions will be crowned at the end of the weekend based on each competitor’s six best sprint and enduro race results from the full season.Reigning Stuttgart Cup Champion Bill Riddell leads the Cayman class points in battle in his No. 05 Cayman S heading to Sebring but will have some new competitors stepping in as possible championship spoilers. Tom Kievit will drive the No. 27 Cayman S that he is scheduled to share with Scott Leder, who is also listed on the No. 87 Cayman S.Another Cayman S to watch is the No. 49 of Mark Sandridge and Joe Varde. Although the potent 3.8-liter Porsche is not eligible for Stuttgart Cup points, the entry is always a threat for overall race victories and hit the podium in last year’s Four Hours of Sebring.The Boxster division will be led by the No. 70 entry of father-and-son driving team Paul Reisman and John Reisman. The duo comes to Sebring after scoring an amazing Run Group F overall victory in the Boxster last month in the inaugural HSR Classic 24 Hour at Daytona International Speedway.The Mission Foods GT3 class has attracted nearly 20 Porsche 996, 997 and GT3 Cup cars of various recent vintage. Entries of note include championship contender Juan Lopez Santini who teams with Brady Refenning in the No. 810 2008 Porsche GT3 Cup.Steve White is another title contender who will co-drive the No. 39 2010 Porsche 997 with Louis-Philippe Dumoulin. Brad Blum and Ron Zitza co-drive the No. 32 2006 Porsche 997 while the father-and-son team of Juan Gonzalez Sr. and Juan Gonzalez Jr. drive the No. 45 2008 Porsche 997 and No. 80 2011 Porsche 997, respectively.The Sebring race weekend will close the curtain on the 2014 season but Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 competitors are already preparing for the 2015 racing season.That recently announced schedule includes the season-opening Palm Beach Grand Prix at Palm Beach International Raceway, February 12 – 14, before a return to Sebring, February 26 – March 1.The Stuttgart Cup/Mission Foods GT3 series will make its Homestead-Miami Speedway debut, April 9 – 12 and then heads North to Road America, May 14 – 17, and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, June 25 – 28. A return to Road Atlanta for the second-straight year in the month of September goes down the weekend of September 14 – 17 before a TBD October date sets the stage for what has become the traditional season-ending races at Daytona, November 12 – 15, and back at Sebring, December 3 – 6.Open to Porsche Caymans and Boxsters, The Stuttgart Cup™ has grown rapidly in just its second season of competition. Partnering with Mission Foods GT3, which has been a fixture on classic and historic race weekends for the last several seasons, was an ideal collaboration that has attracted strong competitor interest after debuting this past April at The Mitty.Both The Stuttgart Cup and the Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA by Car Amigo are managed by Americas Cup GT L.L.C. Both championships are sprint and endurance series with The Stuttgart Cup open to all Porsche Caymans and Boxsters and Mission Foods GT3 open to all 2000 and later Porsche 911 GT3s and related models. Rules for both series are centered on power to weight ratio. All competing Stuttgart Cup cars must compete with stock make and model engine and transmissions with approved allowances for exhaust and intake modifications. Stuttgart Cup organizers also welcome all competitors with existing race-prepared Caymans or Boxsters to compete with body and engine modifications balanced within series power to weight ratio parameters. All such competitors will not be eligible for championship points or class-designated race wins, but the door is always open to all Cayman and Boxster competitors to get in on the action.
