BRDC F4: Ngebulana to drive for HHC Motorsport‏

South African driver Sisa Ngebulana will contest the 2015 Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship with HHC Motorsport. The 16-year-old, who recently took part in the McLaren Applied Technologies Performance Academy, joins Harri Newey and 2014 BRDC F4 Winter Champion Will Palmer at the Yorkshire-based outfit.

Ngebulana, who hails from Fourways near Johannesburg, is making the step up to single-seaters from a successful career racing karts in South Africa. Despite being a latecomer to motorsport, having competed for just two and a half seasons, he has achieved strong results including finishing third in his 2014 Regional Championship before claiming fifth in the South African National Championship.

Ngebulana subsequently earned a call-up to represent his country at the 2014 Rok Cup International Final, held in Lonato, Italy, before being invited to take part in McLaren’s Applied Technologies Performance Academy. The three-day course provides support and education to selected young drivers from across the world who are excelling in motorsport, helping them to hone their talents.

Ngebulana commented: “It is fantastic to be joining the BRDC F4 Championship as it is the clear choice for any driver wanting to take their first steps into single-seaters. I am also delighted to be joining HHC Motorsport; they have a fantastic record in all the series they compete in. Combining their knowledge and tuition during my test programme, and with my planned driver development in the simulator, I am confident we can make really good progress throughout the season.

“My aim is to be inside the top 10 in the championship when the season finishes.”

Charlie Kemp, Commercial Director of HHC Motorsport, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sisa to our F4 team and are really excited about getting to know him throughout his pre-season testing programme. Having never raced in the UK, we aim to give Sisa as much exposure to our circuits as we can prior to the start of the season.”
