That event kicked off a full-season of competition that saw Bill Riddell and Steve White clinch, respectively, the 2014 Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 Cup championships. The Mitty return follows a successful debut for both series at last weekend’s HSR Support Races at the 12 Hours of Sebring. That event produced five different winners over two days of competition on Thursday and Friday, with Riddell, White, Dominique LeQueux, Vern Chevalier and Jeffrey Freeman all reaching the top step of victory lane.Riddell and LeQueux split the Thursday and Friday Stuttgart Cup sprints at Sebring. Driving his Racelink No. 05 Cayman S that carries a flat-black and white-striped livery inspired by the Porsche 918 race car, Riddell rebounded from a third-place finish in Thursday’s opener to take the Friday victory. LeQueux won on Thursday and overcame a mechanical issue Friday to hold on for third in his red MOMO-themed No. 30 Cayman S prepared by Goldcrest Motorsports.“I had a very challenging start,” Riddell said after his Friday victory. “I missed the setup on the car which required me to have to work harder to go faster, but the whole day was fantastic. As we went under the Green Park bridge, so many people were waving and cheering us on. The fans alone at Sebring make running on 12-hour weekend worth it.”Rick Stavola, driving his Bodymotion No. 22 Cayman S, finished second in Stuttgart Cup both days and was the first recipient of the Palm Beach Driving Club (PBDC) Award that is new to both series this season. The PBDC Award provides a free on-track session during a scheduled track day at Palm Beach International Raceway. The award will be presented to a recipient at every Stuttgart Cup/Mission Foods GT3 Cup race weekend this season. All in all, today was a great time,” said Stavola after the Friday race. “It was hot out and a little hectic with so many different classes of cars that run at different speeds, but it was definitely a fun time.”Other Sebring Stuttgart Cup winners included Vern Chevalier in his No. 24 Bodymotion 3.8-liter class Cayman S who swept both the Thursday and Friday races. Chevalier’s solid weekend, after overcoming a practice accident early on Thursday, earned him Sebring’s Pirelli P Zero Tire Award, which can be redeemed for a full set of Pirelli racing tires at an upcoming event.“Today was wonderful and it finally cooled off,” Chevalier said on Friday. “I started up front because I had a really decent time, but I did hit a tire wall during practice. The Bodymotion guys did awesome work getting the car back together and getting me back onto the track, a great group of people to work and race with.”Jeffrey Freeman also doubled up at Sebring in Mission Foods GT3 Cup, taking the Thursday and Friday races in his 3.8 liter No. 16 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup.White was the weekend’s other Mission Foods GT3 Cup winner, taking a 4-liter class victory in his new No. 39 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.Noteworthy- Before The Mitty, the next race on The Stuttgart Cup™ and Mission Foods GT3 Cup schedule is the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) Miami Historics at Homestead-Miami Speedway, April 9 – 12.
