The hills will be alive with the sound of motorsport as the Jewson Isuzu DMax Rally Team rises to the challenge of the first round of the 2015 Britpart MSA British Cross Country Championship (BCCC) on 1112 April.
Held at 'Pikes Peak' in the Cambrian Mountains of West Wales, the course is no toe-dipping exercise into cross country motorsport. The BCCC season starts as it means to go on as a fiendish, no holds barred battle of man and machine against some of the most brutal but picturesque landscapes in Britain.
The very same DMax that Isuzu specially prepared for this campaign last year will return fighting fit after its winter sabbatical. Importantly, the Double Cab pickup retains the same production-based specification that proved so successful and indestructible last year.
Now with the added benefit of hindsight, ex-British Rally Championship driver Jason Sharpe and codriver Richard Lester, plan to use this first event as an opportunity to set a blistering pace. The dynamic duo hope to raise the benchmark even higher within the Production Class.
Last year's incredible and ever-improving performance set the proverbial cat amongst the pigeons. The Jewson Isuzu DMax Rally Team not only made mincemeat of the rest of the production class, they also snapped at the heels of purpose-built rally specials costing five or six times as much.
Will history repeat itself again this year? Is there another productionclass machine out there to rival the DMax when the going gets tough? And more to the point, will the team be able to secure a well-deserved podium finish by the end of the season?
