MSA British Sporting Trials Championship

Round 7: Pennine Trial (Airedale & Pennine Motor Club), 26 April

Ian Wright became the sixth winner from seven rounds so far this season with victory in the inaugural Pennine Sporting Trial, ahead of championship leader Roland Uglow, with Andy Wilks third.

Thomas Bricknell led early on but a disappointing final round saw him drop to fourth. Wright, also a former Champion, cleared 28 of the 32 hills to record his first win of the season. Uglow had three amazing rounds to consolidate his place at the top of the leader board, while Wilks' third place puts him fourth in the championship.

In a splendid fifth place Boyd Webster/Andy Gains (Crosslé) won the Intermediate Class from Bryan Walker/Mark Simpson (Jedi) while a returning Ian Rodman/Lee Delaney (Sherpa Indy) won the Novice Class from Ian Fullwood/Janette Fullwood (CAP).
