Barons is to hold a very special classic car sale at Tattersalls, the world’s oldest bloodstock auctioneers, on July 12th, 2016.

Naturally, the four-wheeled entries in an auction at a venue which specialises in impeccable bloodlines of the four-legged kind will themselves need to boast an impressive pedigree, as Barons’ director Tony Cavell explained:

“Some of the vehicles consigned to Barons for auction are very exciting indeed, and it seemed highly appropriate to hold a dedicated sale for the ‘crème de la crème’ of the cars submitted to us. And what better venue at which to present this elite type of horsepower than Tattersalls, which has been holding racehorse sales since 1766, and now offers 10,000 thoroughbred horses a year? The Newmarket sale-ring will be a magnificent place to showcase the cars in the auction, and will even allow us to parade them round.”

“Entry will be restricted to classic cars – no ‘yearlings’! And those entries must have a fascinating provenance or be amongst the very best examples of their kind, as illustrated by the early entries already consigned. We are inviting more owners to consign their cars, and very much look forward to receiving further applications for entry.”

Early entries for Barons’ Connoisseurs’ Classic Car Collection sale at Tattersalls at Newmarket include a 1954 Bentley R-Type Continental, 1957 Bentley Continental Mulliner fastback, 1963 Rolls-Royce Phantom V, an extremely rare Rolls-Royce 20/25 pickup, a very original Aston Martin DB6 Mk 2 Vantage, a DeTomaso Pantera, a Maserati Merak 3-litre in concours condition and a Mk 2 Lotus Cortina, also in concours condition.

Barons’ seven-sale calendar for 2016 also includes another exciting new venue; the auction house’s annual Jaguar Heritage sale will take place at Kempton Park racecourse in Surrey on September 17th. The remaining five sales will be held at Barons’ traditional, very popular sale venue, Sandown Park racecourse.
