Stars from the world’s oldest sports car endurance race will gather at Hexagon in north London this July for a must-attend charity evening.

Celebrating the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Hexagon will bring together a panel of motorsport experts – including famous period drivers – at its new flagship showroom in Finchley, where they will share insights into one of the world’s most prestigious races.

Raising money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity, the evening will feature not just famous faces but star cars too, with appearances from a host of period endurance racers.

First run in 1923, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the world’s oldest endurance race for sports cars and forms one part of the famous Triple Crown of Motorsport, the others being the Indianapolis 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix.

Taking place on the Circuit de la Sarthe over a mix of closed public roads and a dedicated racing circuit, the track features landmarks such as the high speed Mulsanne straight and iconic Porsche Curves. Famous British drivers who taken victory at Le Mans include Derek Bell MBE, who has won the event five times.

The July event will follow Hexagon’s previous motorsport-themed fundraising evenings in 2014 and 2015, where all proceeds have gone to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity.

Paul Michaels, chairman of Hexagon Classics, said: “There’s no doubt that the 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the world’s most special motoring events. It’s the oldest sports car endurance race there is and the ultimate test of man and machine. I am very proud that Hexagon will be hosting this evening to celebrate this incredible race and I can’t wait to announce a roster of expert speakers who will no doubt be giving us some unparalleled insight.

“Most importantly, though, this evening will raise money for a charity that is very close to my heart. My granddaughter owes her life to the care she received while at Great Ormond Street and I am so happy that we will be able to give something back to this great hospital – and the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals too – helping them to continue their incredible work. Last summer’s celebration of Ayrton Senna raised £72,000 and we have every intention of eclipsing that incredible figure.”

Hexagon’s 24 Hours of Le Mans celebration evening will take place on July 5th at 730pm at Hexagon’s flagship north London showroom located at 82-92 Great North Road, London, N2 0NL.

Tickets cost £195 and include food from Michelin star chef Christian Honor. Interested guests are asked to RSVP: Annabel@hexagon.uk.net or call 07711 169 111
