(KCMG) kicked off 2016 with promising results as the Hong Kong-based team scored points in FIA F4 Japanese Championship and Porsche Carrera Cup Japan’s first event at Okayama International Circuit over the weekend (April 9-10). Yuki Nemoto returns to the national junior entry series’ grid for a second consecutive season, while KCMG’s Paul Ip tackles his third year with Porsche’s premiere one-make series in Japan. KCMG’s positive outing at Okayama was underlined by Nemoto and Ip’s points-scoring performances, which only signals that both drivers are set to challenge for victory this season. Yuki Nemoto began his Okayama outing by logging competitive lap times during the series’ free practice and qualifying runs. As fine conditions graced the 3.703km circuit throughout the weekend, the Japanese driver concluded the series' first two rounds with a ninth and seventh place finish in a 35-car grid.Meanwhile, Paul Ip made headway in his blue and white Porsche 911 GT3 as he took on Porsche Carrera Cup Japan’s action-packed curtain raiser. The two-race affair saw Ip seal a ninth and tenth place finish in PCCJ’s opening rounds at Okayama’s highly technical track. After capping off a positive weekend at Okayama, Nemoto and Ip are both geared for their next challenge at Fuji Speedway on May 3-4.Yuki Nemoto, FIA F4 Japanese Championship Driver: “It was an exciting weekend at Okayama as I returned with KCMG for FIA F4 Japanese Championship’s first event.
