KCMG seals another GTE Am podium in WEC thriller at Fuji

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) once again displayed formidable performance – scoring its second consecutive GTE Am podium in FIA WEC’s sixth round at Fuji Speedway. After a thrilling six-hour battle on Fuji’s 4.563km track, the #78 Porsche 911 RSR shared by Christian Ried, Wolf Henzler and Joel Camathias rounded off the race in third place.

With good strategy and pace, the #78 GTE Am entry managed to make its way from P5 to P2 at the halfway mark of the race. Consistent stints by Ried, Henzler and Camathias, reinforced by quick pit stops, secured KCMG another podium by the final hour with the blue and white Porsche 911 RSR ultimately crossing the finish line in third place.

With two podiums under their belt, KCMG is looking forward to FIA WEC’s penultimate round on home soil at Shanghai International Circuit on November 4-6.

Wolf Henzler: "We can be satisfied with this third place. The whole team has once again superbly fought and kept us with quick pit stops in the race for a podium. Unfortunately, we could not ride for the win at the end and we were a little too far away from the top. I have confidence in the team and uur aim is to challenge for victory at the next race in Shanghai.”

Christian Ried: "Twice in succession on the podium is not bad. If we do not find a few tenths of a second, we might even seal our first win in one of the two remaining races this season. We are now looking forward to Shanghai with this goal in mind."

Joel Camathias: "That was a very good race for us and a place on the podium is what we had planned. We had a good strategy, but unfortunately we could not put more pressure on the tip. We will definitely bounce back stronger in Shanghai."
