ESTIMATE $250,000 - $280,000

The endurance race car that brought Ford back to international racing prominence by defeating Ferrari in the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Developed and built by Ford’s Special Vehicle Team, the Ford GT reissue was a supercar in every way, powered by a 550-horsepower 5.4-liter V-8 with an extruded-aluminum frame covered by an aluminum body shaped as a modern interpretation of the original car. With a retro-modern shape designed by Camilo Pardo under the guidance of Ford Design Chief J. Mays, the 2005-06 Ford GT incorporated many of the original’s signature engineering and design cues, including the hood-ducted radiator air flow, doors that cut into the roof, and functional air-intake scoops in the rear quarters.

As such a unique specialty car, the Ford GT did not fit within Ford’s regular-production processes. Instead, the specialized assembly was handled through the coordination of several companies and facilities, including body assembly by Mayflower Vehicle Systems, partial assembly and paint at Saleen Special Vehicles, and drivetrain installation and final assembly at Ford’s Wixom assembly

During its two-year production, Ford built only 4,038 GTs—2,027 in 2005 and 2,011 in 2006, each snapped up by eager buyers at nearly $150,000 each, not including dealer mark-up. This 2006 model has been driven only 2,558 miles. It is one of 75 finished in Speed Yellow and features all four of the Ford GT’s available options—black over-the-top racing stripes, painted black brake calipers, forged alloy wheels and McIntosh sound system.

The like-new supercar is also equipped with Ebony Black leather interior, standard Recardo 6-speed manual transmission, cross-drilled Brembo disc brakes, air conditioning, keyless entry, and power windows, locks and mirrors.
