MSA British Car Trial Championship
Round 1: Golden Springs Car Trial, 5 March

Barrie Parker drove faultlessly in atrocious conditions that nearly forced the cancellation of the Golden Springs Car Trial, the opening round of the championship.

Parker led from the offset over the 20 hills, in conditions that suited his car perfectly to win his class by 97 points from Nigel Weeks.

Shawn Franklin battled hard to take second overall, with front-wheel-drive Wayne Grimshaw in third.

MSA British Sporting Trials Championship
Round 1: Walsingham Trial, 5 March

Ian Bell returned to the sport after eighteen months to dominate the Walsingham Sporting Trial.

Reigning champion Roland Uglow secured second place over the 24 hills, with new passenger Beth Carroll, with intermittent showers keeping things very slippery. Simon Kingsley and son Matthew completed the podium.

Top live axle was Arthur Carroll in eleventh overall. Phil Haines won the fourteen strong club class.
