Silverstone Auctions races to Oris Rally Clasico win

Silverstone Auctions win outright victory in the Youngtimers and GR. A Class in a 1986 BMW M3 at the Oris Rally Clásico 2017.

The car was driven to victory by Managing Director of Silverstone Auctions Nick Whale and Andy Bull.

The 13th edition of the classic rally took place in Puerto Portals, Mallorca last weekend, 9th to 11th March.

Specialist classic car auction house, Silverstone Auctions, is delighted to achieve overall victory in last week’s Oris Rally Clásico which took place in Puerto Portals in Mallorca from the 9th to 11th March.

Driven by managing director Nick Whale, and Andy Bull, the 1986 BMW M3 won outright victory in the Youngtimers and GR. A Class, by a huge margin of 2 minutes and 5 seconds.

Over 100 cars and drivers from across the world competed in three different classes over three days for the 13th edition of the rally, through 400 km of mountain roads across the west coast of the island with 14 stages.

Speaking after the rally, Managing Director of Silverstone Auctions Nick Whale, said: “I’m delighted that we’ve managed to win this rally in the Silverstone Auctions BMW M3 on only our second attempt.”

“The Rally Clásico is a fantastic event and gets better every year and it’s a great opportunity to meet with other classic racing enthusiasts and enjoy top-quality historic motorsport.”
