Spectacular Shelsley Walsh ChronosAndCars

The second #ChronosAndCars event played host to a selection of racing drivers and a massive collection of cars and enthusiasts at Shelsley Walsh.

Racing driver Freddie Hunt is confirmed to drive for the Brookspeed Omologato Porsche in the upcoming European GT4 series. The son of former-Formula One champion James Hunt will be backed by Omologato throughout the 2017 championship season. The driver confirmed his plans for the future in a live interview with the sell-out crowd at the infamous hillclimb location in Worcestershire.

The celebration of the recent partnership announcement between Omologato and the Mahindra Racing Formula E Team saw driver Nick Heidfeld fly especially to the event in Worcestershire. The motorsport legend wowed the fans by driving an Arrinera Hussarya GT racing car up the famous hill - the first live demo of the machine in the UK. Heidfeld was joined by Mahindra Racing team boss Dilbagh Gill, both proudly wearing the brand-new Mahindra Racing Omologato watch at the one day event.

Omologato brand ambassador Richard Attwood was on hand to talk about his heroics and sign collectible booklets for The Salzburg Omologato chronograph, a new watch celebrating his triumph in the Porsche 917 at the 1970 Le Mans.

A rare Ferrari LaFerrari was driven to the event by racer Marino Franchitti, courtesy of owner Nick Mason. The GT driver gave some insightful interviews and added to the plethora of prestigious names that motorsport fans could get up close to and talk all things racing.

Notable social media influencers, photographers and members of the motoring community attended the event including Omologato-supported driver Katie Milner amongst many others.

The growing event offers car, camera and watch enthusiasts the opportunity to meet and discuss the things they love, whilst simultaneously engaging with the Omologato brand. The next #ChronosAndCars event takes place on June 4 2017, with more details to follow.

Omologato founder Shami Kalra said: “I am overjoyed by the success of #ChronosAndCars. I would like to thank the fans and drivers who came along to such a spectacular event. The massive crowds seen at Shelsley Walsh further prove that this celebration of cars, cameras and chronographs is one of the fastest growing car meets in the UK.

“It is a massive honour to announce the partnership with Freddie Hunt for the upcoming 2017 racing season, which honours Omologato’s commitment to invest in the sport we all love.”

Brookspeed Omologato Porsche driver Freddie Hunt said: “I am really excited about racing in European GT4 Series this year and working with Brookspeed Omologato Motorsport. The team are proven winners, who are a very professional and excellent outfit. As many of you know, racing at Le Mans 24 Hours is my ultimate goal and European GT4 Series is a great stepping stone on the road to getting there. I am looking forward to getting the season underway next weekend in Misano.”
