British GT Championship Rounds 1-2: Oulton Park, 15-17 April

Barwell Motorsport’s Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen enjoyed a perfect start to their championship campaign, making it two wins in one afternoon at Oulton Park.

A damp race one saw Barwell Motorsport dominate, thanks to the efforts of Minshaw whose opening stint laid the foundations for a 37.2 second victory over the sister Lamborghini Huracan GT3 driven by Liam Griffin and Sam Tordoff. Further back, reigning champions Derek Johnston and Jonny Adam came through from 11th on the grid to complete the podium.

Minshaw and Keen were once again in a class of their own in race two. The crew proved equally adept in the dry conditions before the race-ending Safety Car period reduced their winning margin to just 1.9 seconds over TF Sport’s Derek Johnston and Jonny Adam who once again came from 11th to score a podium. Team-mates Mark Farmer and Jon Barnes completed the top-three.

BRDC British F3 Championship
Rounds 1-3: Oulton Park, 15-17 April

Enaam Ahmed dominated at Oulton Park, winning all three races.

Ahmed claimed the opening win of the season after sustained pressure on long-time leader Toby Sowery. In a dramatic conclusion to the race, Sowery ran wide into the gravel as Ahmed took the lead, with team-mate James Pull following him through into second. Sowery recovered to round out the podium in third.

Ahmed took advantage of a hectic second race, charging from eighth to first to claim victory. An opening lap accident forced a red flag and, with a number of cars eliminated and unable to take the restart, Ben Hingeley took second ahead of Callan O’Keeffe in third.

Ahmed claimed a lights-to-flag win in the third and final encounter of the weekend. Reigning US Formula 4 Champion Cameron Das hassled Ahmed for the majority of the race but couldn't close enough to attempt an overtake. James Pull completed the podium.

Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Championship Round 2: Lydden Hill, 17 April

Ollie O’Donovan won the second round at Lydden Hill Race Circuit, despite starting from the back row of the grid in the final.

O’Donovan took an early joker lap as Warren Scott seized the lead at the first corner from row two, but received contact to the rear of his car which later caused a puncture on lap four. Scott held onto the lead of the race until the exit of the joker on the final lap, where he was passed by O’Donovan.

Scott held on to finish second, his first rallycross podium, with Oliver Bennett in third, the newcomer also celebrating his maiden rostrum finish. Championship leader heading into the event, Nathan Heathcote (Citroen C4), had a difficult day blighted by first gearbox and then power steering problems that meant he didn’t qualify for the final.

For the second event in a row, Paige Bellerby won the MSA Supernational Rallycross Championship final while Tom Llewellin claimed victory in the Junior Championship.

MSA British Drag Racing Championship
Round 1: Santa Pod, 14-16 April

Andy Robinson “ran the table” at Santa Pod – low qualifier, low elapsed time and top speed of the event, and eventual victory.

Wallace was the event’s most consistent performer, clocking six-second elapsed times on all but one of his seven passes and twice achieving personal-best times and speeds en route to his first final.

Kevin Slyfield also scored fresh personal bests and was unlucky to lose to Wallace in the semi-final when tyre shake blunted his progress.
