Nestling on the border of Spain, the municipality of Montalegre would from a distance appear like any other in Northern Portugal were it not for the presence of a 1.52 km rallycross track, the location for round two of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. Traditionally the season-opener, this year Portugal follows up a frenetic opening round in Catalunya, as Ekstrom edged former DTM rival Timo Scheider to make the best possible start to his title defence in the all-singing, all-dancing EKS RX Audi S1. 2014 Portugal winner Johan Kristoffersen will be anxious for revenge after fluffing the start in Barcelona, while remarkably, Portugal one year ago was the last time his team-mate and double champion Solberg won a round. Can the Norwegian rediscover his winning touch and end his barren stretch at last?
