MAJOR EVENTS LATEST…

DANNY King will launch the defence of this British title in the first semi-final at Newcastle on Sunday April 30.
King triumphed in spectacular style at the National Speedway Stadium, Belle Vue last season, and will be targeting a repeat performance in this year’s British Final at the same venue on June 19.
But first he has to negotiate the semi on one of his former home tracks as King had a spell as a Diamonds rider in the old Premier League of 2014.
The home club will be represented by four of their current riders, including heat-leader duo Robert Lambert and Steve Worrall who both finished in the top four overall last year.
Lewis Rose and Ashley Morris also feature, along with Jason Garrity and Ben Barker who have both previously reached the title-deciding race in the Final when it was staged at Wolverhampton – whilst Rory Schlein is a noteworthy addition to the national title race this season.
Meanwhile multiple former champions Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris will both be in action in the second semi-final at Sheffield on Thursday May 4.
The duo have a staggering ten British titles between them and are amongst five Rye House riders to feature at Owlerton, with that meeting also including former runner-up Edward Kennett and the man who has finished second in each of the last three seasons – Belle Vue and Workington skipper Craig Cook.
Three members of the current Sheffield team will be racing for a place in the Final – and intriguingly all are set to meet in their first race of the night!
Josh Bates, Kyle Howarth and Robert Branford have all won British Under-21 Championships in recent seasons and the trio will line up with Peterborough’s Simon Lambert in Heat 4.
Lambert, Josh Auty and Adam Roynon are all ex-Tigers riders who will be hoping to take advantage of their knowledge of the Yorkshire circuit.
The top eight riders from both meetings qualify for the Final.
