Matt Luff joins Richardson Racing for remaining Ginetta Junior Championship rounds

Richardson Racing has confirmed that it has agreed a deal to run rookie Matt Luff in the remaining three rounds of the 2017 Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship.

The 16-year-old from Romford in Essex will join the team from this weekend’s seventh meeting of the year at Rockingham – which is just a stones throw from the team’s base in Corby.

Matt will then also compete in the events at Silverstone and Brands Hatch next month.

The deal will see Richardson Racing expand it’s assault on the Ginetta Junior Championship from one car to two, with Matt joining forces with fellow rookie Luke Browning.

Ahead of this weekend’s event, Matt – who has a best finish of sixth this season - has already spent time in Richardson Racing’s state-of-the-art simulator before taking to the track at Rockingham for a test to acclimatise to his new team.

“Our plan was always to expand the Junior side of the team and we’re pleased to welcome Matt onboard for the final three rounds of the year,” team boss Gwyn Richardson said.

“We’re pleased we’ve been able to sort a deal with Matt to allow him to complete the season alongside Luke as part of a two-car team.

“He has shown good potential on track this season and we’re confident we can help him enjoy a solid end to the year.”
