WOLVERHAMPTON captain Fredrik Lindgren is ready for his defence of the SGB Premiership Riders’ Championship at Belle Vue on Saturday.
Lindgren was a double winner of the event under the former ELRC banner, regaining the title by triumphing at Coventry last October.
But he accepts the challenge will be tough at the National Speedway Stadium with his World title rival Jason Doyle in the line-up along with British Champion Craig Cook.
Lindgren said: “It’s at a great race track with great facilities and an awesome stadium, so that always makes it extra exciting for a big event.
“It should be interesting with all the top riders in the league battling for the title, and I’m expecting it to be tough to defend my crown.
“I feel like I have a good chance, because I’ve been riding well of late and I’ve found much more speed again recently.
“I’m in good form and I’m one of the top riders in the averages, so I’d like to think I have a chance to win it for a third time.”

KING’S Lynn and Rye House clash in the final regular SGB Premiership fixture of the campaign at the Adrian Flux Arena tonight (Wednesday).
The Stars will bring down the curtain on a year which promised much as they held a play-off place mid-season, but have since tumbled down the table following 14 defeats in their last 15 matches.
But they do intend to make an announcement concerning 2018 team plans during tonight’s interval.
The Rockets, meanwhile, will finish their debut top-flight season in fifth place having just missed out on the play-offs – and could close to within one point of Poole with a win.
King's Lynn will be without both Tomas H Jonasson and Nicklas Porsing due to the Swedish play-offs, with rider replacement at No.3 and Simon Lambert coming in at reserve.
Stars boss Dale Allitt said: “It's been a difficult year for the club for a number of reasons, and for me personally as well.
“But it's the last meeting of the season, and we'll be looking to go out with a win to set us up nicely for 2018.
“This season hasn't panned out the way we'd hoped, but we can at least start planning for next season and focusing on making it a much better year.”
Rye House manager Peter Schroeck said: “All the boys are fired up, and they all want to come back to Rye next season, which is a brilliant attitude.
“We are hoping that all seven of them will ride; Ben Barker suffered a fracture of his left wrist at Redcar on Friday but he is absolutely determined to be there if at all possible – he is that sort of battler. If not, we will operate rider-replacement for him.”

GLASGOW host Ipswich in a clash of two of the SGB Championship’s top four at Ashfield tonight (Wednesday).
The Tigers can take a big step towards confirming their play-off place with a home win, with the Witches already set for the title clashes.
And Glasgow skipper Aaron Summers says it’s an important fixture against a side they could find themselves facing again before the end of the season.
Summers said: “Every meeting this coming week is going to be tough but pretty vital to us. We're going to have to hit them hard from the word go.
“We need to lay a marker down against teams and show that the one meeting we lost at home against Sheffield was a little blip for us.
“The Ipswich match will be key and I'm sure the pressure will be on, but we'll have to go out there and perform like we know we can.”
The home side use James Shanes and Ryan Douglas as guests to cover their injured riders, whilst Mark Riss steps in for the Witches.
Ipswich boss Ritchie Hawkins said: “We want to get the meeting done, and there is potential there to get a good result with both teams carrying injuries and having riders missing going into the fixture.
“I would take a win there in the play-offs if it meant we lost on Wednesday but we are looking for another good performance like at Edinburgh.”
