2018 DATES AND RETROMOBILE DISPLAY CONFIRMED AS LES GRANDES HEURES AUTOMOBILES (LGHA) EXTENDS TO THREE DAYS NEXT YEAR

The 2018 dates for the fourth edition of the popular Les Grandes Heures Automobiles (LGHA), staged at the famous banked Linas-Montlhéry circuit near Paris, are now confirmed as 28-30 September 2018

Due to the huge success of late September’s 2017 LGHA, for 2018 an extra day (Friday 28 September) will be added to the event to meet popular demand

To preview some of the many attractions due to be in action on the banking at the 2018 LGHA, a special display of original record-breaking cars that set speed and endurance records at Montlhéry will form a fascinating LGHA display at the 2018 Retromobile, Paris, from 7 to 11 February
Record-breaking Montlhéry cars already confirmed for the special 2018 LGHA Retromobile display include the 1927 Voisin 8-litre 24-hour speed record breaker, the famous 1933 Citroen 8CV ‘Petite Rosalie’ endurance car, Peugeot’s unique 1965 single-seater 404 Diesel and the 1952 Simca Aronde 9 record model.

The 2018 LGHA at Montlhéry will be held just days before next year’s bi-annual Paris Motor Show open its doors, giving motoring enthusiasts even more reasons to visit the event in 2018

Due to the phenomenal success last September of the third edition of Les Grandes Heures Automobiles (LGHA), held at the celebrated Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry, near Paris, for 2018 an extra day (Friday 28 September) will be added to the event. This will enable motor sport and classic car enthusiasts the opportunity to savour the LGHA’s unique atmosphere for even longer.

Next year’s LGHA dates are now also confirmed, with the event running from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 September, just a few days before the bi-annual Paris Mondial de l’Automobile motor show opens its doors only a few miles away from Montlhéry.

Ahead of next September’s three-day LGHA, the many international visitors to February’s Retromobile, held at the Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris from 7 to 11 February 2018, will once again get a taster of what to look forward to at the 2018 LGHA, with a special LGHA feature display of famous Montlhéry speed and endurance record breaking cars in the spotlight on the exhibition bridge, linking Retromobile Halls 1 and 2.2.

This LGHA Montlhéry record breakers feature display at the 2018 Retromobile will include the 1927 Voisin 24-hour speed record 8-Liitre monster, the 1933 Citroen 8CV ‘Petite Rosalie’ that covered 300,000 kilometres non-stop over 120,000 laps of the Linas-Montlhéry banking at an average speed on 93 km/h (53 mph), the standard production 1952 Simca Aronde 9 that broke an number of international endurance records, plus the unique 1965 Peugeot 404 Diesel single-seater that covered 5,000 km in 31 hours at an average speed of 100 mph.

Video highlights of the 2017 edition of LGHA are now available, including multiple World Rally Champion Sebastian Loeb in storming action in his Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak racer, a special display of David Pipers cars, included his famous green Ferrari 250 LM, as well as his Lola T70 MK 3B, Ferrari 365 P2 and Porsche 917K on the Montlhery banking, plus a wealth of Group B rally cars, historic racers, competition motorcycles, supercars and classic cars.
