Stratton Motorsport will expand to compete in the BRDC British F3 Championship in 2018, with the ability to run a three car entry.
The Norwich-based squad, owned by Roger Bennington, has a motorsport history dating over 40 years and have enjoyed championship-winning success in both GT racing and historic motorsport in the past decade.
The team achieved championship success in British GT in 2006 and 2008 and, most recently, successfully campaigned a Lotus Evora GT4 in the series driven by Stuart Hall and Gavan Kershaw. Stratton also run a fleet of Aston Martin Vantage V8s in a variety of categories including the Aston Martin Owner’s Club Championship, GT4 Challenge and several 24 hour races, winning the GT4 Challenge series for four years running.
The move to BRDC British F3 Championship marks their first foray into single seater racing, and the team have linked up with Roly Vincini’s P1 Sport operation as well as recruiting former GP2 mechanics to assist with the operation of the cars alongside Stratton’s existing staff. Vincini, now Stratton’s ‘Head of Technical,’ has vast experience with single seater racing on an international level, and will actively recruit drivers for the new team.
As well as a successful racing team, the parent operation, Stratton Motor Company, is well known worldwide for both historic and modern Aston Martin and Lotus motor cars.
The team has confirmed it will have one of its brand new, freshly-liveried Tatuus Cosworth cars on display on the Sunoco stand at this week’s Autosport International Show, with staff representatives available for any enquiries.
Team Motor Sport Manager David Kershaw commented: “We’re very excited to be expanding our operation to race in the BRDC British F3 Championship. This is a new venture for us and we’re very confident that we’ll be able to run competitively right away.

We have won everything we have turned our hand to and are confident we will be able to do the same in British F3”.
