THE tenth annual Ben Fund Bonanza will take place at Peterborough on Sunday March 18 (2pm start).
Organisers have already confirmed star Danish duo Hans Andersen and Kenneth Bjerre plus Great Britain favourites Scott Nicholls, Chris Harris and Ben Barker – the latter maintaining his 100 per cent appearance record in the event – for the meeting which helps generate significant funds for injured riders.
SRBF Chairman Paul Ackroyd said: “Now that we are able to say where and when our tenth annual meeting will be I’m obviously relieved but also thrilled that the meeting will be at such an excellent venue. We have big plans and intend to make this a real fun day for the supporters.”
Peterborough chief Ged Rathbone added: “We as a club are over the moon to be staging the Ben Fund Bonanza. We have looked at doing it and talked about doing it for a couple of years, and we’ve finally been given the go-ahead to try and put on a really good show for Paul and the paying public who come and watch it. We are genuinely over the moon.”

THE Isle of Wight will again be hosting a pre-season camp for the Great Britain Young Lions under the control of Under-21 boss Neil Vatcher.
The event takes place on February 13-15 comprising two days on-track and one in the gym, with GB World Cup star Steve Worrall on hand to pass on his speedway knowledge along with a personal trainer, with nutrition and mechanical advice included.
Vatcher said: “We had a terrific response from everyone involved in last year’s event and will be carrying this success in to this season’s camp.
“Many of the riders who came last year displayed significant progress in 2017 and I know we can continue to develop British youngsters for the benefit of the sport going forward.
“My thanks go to the Isle of Wight promotion and their dedicated band of volunteers for helping to make the camp happen.”

CRADLEY have named former skipper Adam Roynon as the first member of their National Trophy team.
The Heathens are unable to compete in a full league campaign this year but will be racing in the Northern section of the Trophy and have moved for Roynon, who rode for them in 2011-12, with the aim of him being available to appear in all eight group fixtures.
Co-promoter Gary Patchett said: “Adam was delighted to come back to us, even in a reduced fixture list.
“He has unfinished business and wants to do well for us. I’d already suggest he will be a contender for the Golden Hammer!
“We hope this gives the Heathens fans some renewed enthusiasm as we look to keep the club on track in 2018.”
