FIA World Rally Championship
After its now traditional short winter break, the FIA World Rally Championship’s 2018 season continues, with Sweden the location for round two. The WRC’s annual February trip to snowy Scandinavia always provides an exciting weekend of action, which in 2017 was won by Toyota’s Jari-Matti Latvala.

Before the Swedish round, catch-up with the opening rally of the season in Monte Carlo, and see if Sebastien Ogier would be able to kick off his title defence with a win, as the Frenchman goes for his sixth-straight WRC title.

The Great History of the 24 Hours of Le Mans
Motorsport.tv’s exclusive look back at the full archives of the 24 Hours of Le Mans continues in February, revisiting every race from 1961 to 1972. This era saw everything from Sports 3000 cars including the Ferrari 250 TR and Aston Martin DBR1, to the screaming 3.0l Sports Prototypes such as the Matra MS670 and Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 TT, as well as the birth of a great rivalry between Ferrari and Ford in the mid-1960s.

Super Formula 2017 Highlights
Highlights of the 2017 Super Formula championship continue, as the second half of the season saw races at Motegi, Autopolis and Sugo. With wins in the opening four races going to series regulars Kazuki Nakajima, Andre Lotterer, Yuhi Sekiguchi and Hiroaki Ishiura, new-for-2017 drivers Pierre Gasly and Felix Rosenqvist were looking to kick-start their title aspirations, but would they be able to fight for wins?

Bathurst 12 Hours
First run in 1991, the Bathurst 12 Hours has become established as one of the biggest of the early season endurance races. Held on the iconic Mount Panorama Circuit, the around the clock event is open to an array of machinery, including GT3, Cup class, GT4 and invitational endurance touring cars. For the top-class cars, the race is also part of the 2018 Intercontinental GT Challenge.

Asian Le Mans Series
The final round of the 2017/18 Asian Le Mans Series season sees the championship head to Malaysia, and the Sepang circuit. With six pre-2017 LMP2 cars making up the top class, Jackie Chan DC Racing has been the team to beat, after winning the opening two rounds. Also on track at the four-hour races are LMP3 and GT3 cars, all vying for the ultimate prize of a 2018 Le Mans 24 Hours entry.

NASCAR Xfinity Series
The next generation of NASCAR Cup drivers will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of 2017 Champion William Byron, as the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series gets underway. The season opening round shadows the Daytona 500, before heading north from Florida to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the second event of a packed 33-race calendar.

Air Race 1 World Cup, Thailand
The Air Race 1 World Cup is an event for purpose-built Formula One racing aircraft, around a pylon-marked course, where speeds are in excess of 450 kph. The World Cup, which in 2017 was hosted in Thailand, brings the best pilots from the international air-racing scene together to fight it out on a 5 km oval course to crown a champion, harking back to similar events held in the inter-war years.

NZ Touring Cars Championship
Whilst the circuit-racing season in Europe might be quiet, down in New Zealand, the NZ Touring Cars Championship rages on. Drivers look to follow in the footsteps of Andre Heimgartner, Jason Bargwanna and Craig Baird, to make it into Australian Supercars, as New Zealand’s unique V8SuperTourers do battle on some of the country’s best circuits.
