Clement Novalak confirmed for part F3 season with Carlin

Carlin have confirmed that British racer Clement Novalak will join the team for five rounds this season in the 2018 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship.

Novalak, who is taking on his first season racing single-seater cars, comes from a strong karting background and has recently completed the TRS New Zealand Championship in anticipation of the 2018 season.

Despite his young age, Novalak is no stranger to the racing world. Competing in karting professionally since 2014, he enjoyed success before moving on to single-seaters for the 2018 season.

For his first foray, the 17-year-old made his way to New Zealand for the Toyota Racing Series NZ, where he enjoyed a brilliant showing in the back-to-back race series. Securing two wins, four podiums and three fastest laps, Novalak ended the season fifth overall in the championship standings. His impressive performance during the campaign didn’t go unnoticed – with many highlighting the achievements of the rising star.

Returning to the UK, Novalak continued testing with Carlin in anticipation of the 2018 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship. This will see the Briton participate in a dual programme taking in five rounds of the season as he runs alongside a campaign in the Formula Renault 2.0 Championship.

Novalak said of the upcoming season, “I’m really proud to be joining such a prestigious team. Carlin has brought to light so many racing stars over the years, so I hope to learn as much as I can from them over the next season in BRDC British F3. Over the five rounds, I’m aiming to carry the momentum that I gained from the TRS Championship and do a solid job.”

Racing director Trevor Carlin added, “We are thrilled to welcome Clement to the team for the upcoming season – he has shown strong pace while taking part in pre-season testing and was a standout racer in the TRS Championship earlier in the year. We very much look forward to watching what he can achieve this season.”
