The new BTB designed E30 325i Evo Manifold

e30 evo exhaust manifoldBTB have been making tubular manifolds for the E30 325i since the car’s introduction in the eighties. The original design was inspired by the Hartge manifolds that we had seen for an earlier E21 323i, which a customer had asked us to modify to fit on to his E30 323i. This design was further refined on the introduction of the E30 325i, which featured a slightly different oil filter housing.

BTB made and sold a great many of these manifolds during the late 80’s and early 90’s, but demand had slowed recently. That was until we offered the last remaining stock of our manifolds on Ebay, and were amazed by the response we had, and the subsequent feedback that we received from happy owners raving about the improved performance, and great noise that it added to their cars.

e30 evo exhaust manifold We were well aware of people fitting these manifolds to more highly tuned engines and also knew that the design whilst offering a sufficient improvement over the standard cast iron manifold could be improved upon. In particular engines with increased capacity (2.7litres) or superchargers (or both) would benefit from a larger pipe diameter, longer primaries and more equal lengths. Starting from scratch we used all our experience gained from racing coupled with the latest computerized design and analysis tools to develop the BTB E30 325i Evolution manifolds. The design goal was to maximise top end power without compromising mid range flexibility. This gives a wide power band and is particularly suited for those wishing to enjoy their cars performance on a trackday, especially if that happens to be at the Nurburgring!

BTB’s system can be specified with either 1 or 2 silencers depending required noise level. The quieter 2 silencer version is recommended for stealthy road use, or at venues such as Goodwood, Castle Combe or Bedford Autodrome where very low noise levels are applied. You can of course enjoy the creamy wail from the equal length manifolds from inside the car at any time.
