KCMG ready for Motegi Super Taikyu challenge

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is set for Round 5 of the 2023 Super Taikyu Series, looking to build on a string of positive results.

The team currently sits third in the overall standings thanks to a solid campaign so far, including an impressive podium finish at the Fuji Super TEC 24 Hours in May.

Racing in the #202 Honda NSX GT3 EVO in the ST-X category, KCMG Founder Paul Ip, Marchy Lee Ying-Kin and Ho-Pin Tung will now take on the challenging Mobility Resort Motegi, looking to set themselves up for a strong end to the year.

The Hong Kong-based team recently took a double-points finish at the venue in Super Formula, and will be hoping for more success at the 4.801-kilometre circuit this weekend. Featuring several long straights that lead into heavy braking zones and tight corners, drivers must stay on their toes throughout the lap to succeed at the Japanese track.

MARCHY LEE YING-KIN
“I’m looking forward to Motegi. We’re just over halfway through the season and our performance has improved at each event so far. Hopefully we’ll continue moving in the right direction and have a strong result this weekend.”

HO-PIN TUNG
“Motegi is another new circuit for me and I’m keen to get out there and give it my all. Since the last race, the team has worked hard to further improve the car and we’re confident ahead of the event. We know we’re capable of a podium finish, so that will be our target.”

PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER
“I’m very excited to jump back in the car for the next round of the Super Taikyu Series. I raced at Motegi in GT World Challenge Asia earlier this summer and it’s a track I enjoy competing at. We’ve been making good gains throughout the season, improving at each event and I’m very hopeful for a positive result and some big points this weekend!”
