Rally the Globe unveils 2025 calendar of incredible global driving adventures

• Entries for Carrera Andalucía and the Islands of Japan Marathon now open
• Unmissable driving adventures top next year’s programme
• Truly unique Far Eastern escapade not to be missed
• Harrogate-based Generations Rally already fully-subscribed

After its busiest-ever 12 month roster of incredible global driving adventures,  Rally the Globe is now gearing up for exciting new challenges in 2025. Entries are already open for two much-loved staples in the spring as well as a return to the sun-drenched, traffic-free roads of Spain and a once-in-a-lifetime escapade forging extraordinary motoring memories in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Following the overwhelming success of the first three editions, the award-winning Generations Rally (28-30 March) kicks off what promises to be another epic year from an impressive new base in Harrogate. Such is its popularity that the entry list is already fully subscribed with a waiting list now open for crews of different generations keen to participate in such a hugely inspiring endeavour for those of all ages.

Rally the Globe then once again joins forces with Irish Racing Green for the sixth running of the hugely enjoyable Vintage Shamrock (12-15 May), which next year returns to the spectacular coastlines and dramatic mountains of Counties Cork and Kerry. Though reserved entirely for pre-war cars, only the last few places on the entry list remain available.

The geography then switches to sunny Spain for the sixth in Rally the Globe’s well-received Carrera style explorations. Although two previous such events have been run in Spain, Carrera Andalucía (22 June – 3 July) will be set in totally new territories. Starting and finishing in Málaga, it will tackle wonderful, smooth, traffic-free roads through olive groves and over the high sierra with stunning overnight stays in Granada, Carmona and Córdoba. The route includes a number of multiple night stays, providing crews an opportunity to take advantage of the unique hotels and to explore the beautiful architecture, food and wine of this region of Southern Spain.

The year concludes in truly incredible fashion with the Islands of Japan Marathon (18 September – 16 October), an amazing month-long journey of discovery navigating the four main islands of Japan from Hokkaido in the far north, through Honshu and Shikoku to the finish in semi-tropical Kyushu.

As the third of Rally the Globe’s intrepid ‘Marathon’ category rallies, the extraordinary 28-day route will feature both asphalt and gravel sections exploring areas tourists seldom see, with a schedule allowing plenty of time to explore the rich cultural, culinary, wildlife and imperial historical highlights of this uniquely intriguing land.

“If you have always been fascinated by Japan and love driving this really is an unbelievable, not-to-be-missed opportunity,” revealed Fred Gallagher, Rally Director. “This incredible 7,000kms route really will have it all. It will travel through many of the great National Parks and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, past the iconic Mount Fuji and include speed tests at some of the country’s premier motorsport venues. It will even offer the crews the chance to take the bullet train into Tokyo on one of the well-earned rest days. Japan is one of the most fascinating and enchanting countries on Earth and thus the perfect setting for our next incredible marathon style escape.”

Entries for both Carrera Andalucía and the Islands of Japan Marathon have recently been opened to all-comers with cars of a type built before the end of 1976. Judging by proven popularity of past sell-out Carerras on the Iberian Peninsula and the very special appeal of Rally the Globe’s first-ever venture to the Land of the Rising Sun, both new highlights on the 2025 calendar are expected to reach capacity.

Before any of those, though, the ever-innovative Rally the Globe team has one more outstanding rally remaining on its busy 2024 programme: the Austria to Athens Challenge – an incredible two-week driving voyage through the less-explored parts of the Balkans.
