2025 IGTC CALENDAR CONFIRMED AFTER SUZUKA AND INDIANAPOLIS DATES FINALISED

Next year’s Intercontinental GT Challenge calendar has been finalised following confirmation of the Suzuka 1000km weekend and a small but significant change to the Indianapolis 8 Hour Presented by AWS date.

The globe-trotting GT3 series will return to Japan for the first time since 2019 on September 12-14 before heading Stateside for its and the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS season finale one month later on October 16-19. Per tradition, the GT3 endurance race takes place on Saturday (October 18) before SRO America’s other series stage the majority of their races Sunday.

The 8 Hour is two weeks later than previously announced. This is no coincidence, as it provides teams and manufacturers sufficient time to sea freight cars and equipment from Suzuka to Indianapolis.

There are also practical considerations at the Brickyard where IMSA is due to stage its own race just two weeks prior to the 8 Hour’s original slot. That championship’s 2025 campaign now also concludes before the joint IGTC and Fanatec GT America finale, increasing the potential for more teams to join.

Suzuka, meanwhile, falls in mid-September when temperatures should be lower than the scorching conditions experienced in August 2018 and ’19.

The rest of 2025’s IGTC calendar remains as announced at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa in late June. As always, the season begins in Australia and at the legendary Mount Panorama, which hosts the Bathurst 12 Hour in early February. A quirk of Germany’s holiday season then means two 24-hour races, first at the Nürburgring and then Spa-Francorchamps, follow on consecutive weekends in late June before Suzuka and Indy close out the five-race campaign.
