Sacrilege Motors to debut Enigma Coupe @ Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

Reimagined electrified 964 widebody coupe makes world debut on the Concept Lawn on August 18.

One year ago, Phil Wagenheim and Bobby Singh shocked the automotive world when they unveiled their Sacrilege Motors Blackbird on the Concept Lawn of the 2023 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The beautifully reimagined triple black 964 America Roadster, featuring all electric power, captured the attention of both enthusiasts and journalists alike. Sacrilege Motors is now set to return to the Concept Lawn at this year’s 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 18, 2024 to debut Enigma, their first production coupe for sale.

Enigma, a widebody, sunroof-delete 1990 964 coupe, has been painstakingly restored to concours level quality, with the exterior finished in a striking Arabian Grey. Inside, the bespoke interior is tailored to each owner’s preferences, enveloping the driver in the world’s finest Italian hand-stitched leather. Vintage round gauges provide crucial information to optimize the electric drivetrain’s performance. The interior harmoniously blends vintage aesthetics with modern conveniences, such as a center-mounted MagSafe charger and a Bluetooth audio system. Leather door pulls and a proper ignition key reinforce the vintage sportscar vibe.

Sacrilege Motors has reimagined the legendary air-cooled sportscar to create an entirely new driving experience. The handling and steering feel are familiar, yet the acceleration and performance elevate the icon to something completely different. A state-of-the-art Fellten drivetrain is wrapped in a completely restored factory steel wide body, either coupe or roadster, and finished in any color desired, topped with six layers of clearcoat and fully wrapped in paint protection film.

The custom motor delivers 500 horsepower and 500 newton-meters of torque, without increasing the weight of the original ice-powered vehicle, to deliver near supercar performance. This lightweight package was optimized for drivers, with custom developed three-way adjustable Penske Racing shocks and Brembo six-piston brakes to deliver a nimbleness and driving feel that no other EV can match. Sacrilege Motors delivers an electric vehicle for people who prefer corners over dragstrips.

Sacrilege Motors CEO Phil Wagenheim is looking forward to returning to Pebble Beach. “Our experience last year when we debuted Blackbird, and the global response we received, was truly overwhelming. We’re excited to return to showcase Enigma, our first coupe, to this very discerning audience. As a longtime Porsche owner, the goal from the start with this project was to preserve the unique experience of a Porsche. The steering feel, the handling, the braking, even the weight transfer, we set a very high bar for ourselves. Through our countless hours of engineering, and our outstanding partners at Fellten and Penske Racing Shocks, we think we’ve nailed it. The enthusiastic global response we’ve received demonstrates that our message is truly resonating with people everywhere.”

Sacrilege Motors President Bobby Singh shares Wagenheim’s enthusiasm. “We’re engineering and developing our cars at Lime Rock Park, to deliver a true Porsche driving experience. Last year, the Pebble Beach attendees recognized what we achieved, crafting a lightweight electric sportscar for drivers. Our cars are certainly beautiful to behold, with so many incredible details, yet the driving experience is unlike anything available in any other vehicle. The Sacrilege Motors cars are so dialed in, and so responsive, they would be quicker than some of the purpose-built vintage racing machines battling it out over at Laguna Seca.”
