Jordans head to Rockingham

After a great start to the season at Brands Hatch, Mike and Andrew Jordan will head to the spectacular Rockingham circuit near Corby in Northamptonshire this weekend (12/13 April) for the next three races in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship. The season started very well for Mike (50) and Andrew (18) as they teamed up in the pair of Honda Integras from John Guest Racing at Brands Hatch for the opening weekend of the season. While Mike came very close to claiming a podium finish, Andrew showed his potential by scoring a strong ninth place in the third race."Jordan junior acquitted himself excellently," said leading touring car journalist Matt James in his report in Motorsport News, recognising Andrew's mature start to his BTCC campaign. For Andrew, the Brands weekend was a high-pressure event as he started his first three BTCC races, but he immediately showed that he belongs in the BTCC and will build on that early experience during the Rockingham weekend."I certainly learnt a lot at Brands," said Andrew. "It was a good start to life as a BTCC driver. I'm chuffed to bits that we got both cars in the top ten in the third race. The third race was mega. I didn’t make the best start, but I had a good first lap and worked my way up."The John Guest Hondas have already shown good pace at Rockingham in pre-season testing and Mike is confident that they can have another good weekend. "Rockingham is a fantastic facility," said Mike. "One of the keys to Rockingham is to make the car exemplary on the brakes, and the Honda was particularly good on the brakes there last year. A lot of the infield is very controlled, looking for traction in second and third gears."After qualifying at Rockingham on Saturday, the first of three BTCC races will start at 11.20am on Sunday. All of the action will be screened live on ITV4, with a programme running from 12.30pm to 5.30pm, with live coverage of the second and third races of the day.
