50 Years of Supercar Icons

AT BRITISH INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW

More details have been revealed about the Heritage Enclosure debuting at this summer’s British International Motor Show (ExCeL London, 23 July to 3 August) - sure to be one of the event’s showpiece attractions.

For the price of a standard Motor Show entrance ticket, visitors will be able to roam freely around the Heritage Enclosure’s tented paddocks, housing more than 40 rare, exotic, classic and modern-day supercars.  Many of these same motoring icons will be put through their paces on a track which will run around the perimeter of the new attraction - located in a purpose-built area just outside the main Show halls.

The theme for the Heritage Enclosure will be ‘Supercars from the Past Five Decades’, and vehicles already confirmed include an Aston MartinDB4 and Lamborghini Miura (1960s); Ferrari Daytona and Lancia Stratos (1970s); BMW M1 and Porsche 959 (1980s); McLaren F1 and Jaguar XJ220 (1990s); Maserati MC12 and Bugatti Veyron 16.4 (2000s).

As well as some of the most revered supercars ever built, the Enclosure will have its own luxury outdoor barbeque area, exclusive hospitality zone, and viewing areas offering visitors the ability to watch the action in the vehicle paddocks and on the parade track.“The Heritage Enclosure will become London’s ultimate garden party for petrolheads,” said Motor Show Marketing Director Kirsty Perkinson. “Designed to celebrate the very best of motoring past and present, this stunning new feature will certainly add to the overall experience of this world-class motor show.”

The Enclosure will also have its own stunning backdrop, in the form of the ‘Elite Fleet’ which features some of the world’s most desirable and expensive luxury craft and sailing vessels, all lined up in the neighbouring dock.

The Motor Show will be open to the public from Wednesday 23 July until Sunday 3 August, and will feature over 60 vehicle marques and 600 new cars.  The Show is returning to ExCeL London where the award-winning2006 event attracted over 415,000 attendees, exceeding the expectations of the industry and securing its status as a must-visit exhibition in the international automotive calendar.

Tickets for the Show are now on sale, with prices starting at just £10 for an adult weekday pass and £6 for a child’s ticket.  A weekday family ticket will admit two adults and two children, and costs only £25.  Tickets are available  by calling 0871 230 5588.
